Review: freezeframe revitaleyes eye gel
Remember freezeframe with INHIBOX? It made a big splash in South Africa a few years back when it launched at Dis-Chem. It was one of the first topical products to contain a safe skin tightening agent that after drying on your skin, would shrink up to create a more taught-looking complexion.
I once saw a demo of it in store and the results where seriously impressive so I’m sad I can’t find it locally anymore. However the good news is that the brand, which hails from Oz, now ships to anywhere in the world for a flat rate of 20 Aussie dollars!
freezeframe recently sent me their top selling eye treatment – REVITALEYES to try ($69 AU) and I’ve really enjoyed using it!
Hello new friend!
The best selling eye treatment down under, REVITALEYES promises to help blitz puffiness, dark circles and wrinkles. Ingredients-wise, you’re looking at skin-plumping hyaluronic acid and the polymer with an instant tightening action to help smooth and lift in the short term plus a trio of peptides and antioxidant vitamin C (all great collagen-boosters in a good concentration) to help you out over time.
While I don’t have serious lines to get rid of, I do have lots of fine ones that get worse when my skin’s dehydrated and so I was glad to see that after applying REVITALEYES did a good job of softening them up.
As far as dark circles go, some people tend to have them as the blood vessels under their eyes are congested and sluggish, causing the blood to pool in this area and create that ‘I haven’t slept in days’ look. If this is you, the microcirculation-boosting ingredients in REVITALEYES will help you shift them.
My circles, however, are caused by the fact that the skin under my eyes are thinner than the rest of my face so you’ll always see a ‘shadow’. This is a genetic thing and one of the more common reasons people have under eye circles so keep your expectations realistic when you make your purchase.
Lastly, let’s talk puffiness! I’ve never really battled with puffy eyes in the past but while on holiday in Cancun I found that multiple margaritas before bed mixed with a touch of insomnia thanks to the serious time zone shift saw me waking up with swollen eyelids. This is the kind of thing that eventually goes away as the day goes on but I don’t have time to wait which is why I’m thrilled to see that REVITALEYES does a bang up job of minimising puffiness.
I was able to put it to the test too by applying it to one eye and not the other and found that by the time I’d eaten brekkie and hit the pool the au natural eye was improved but still a little puffy whereas the treated eye was 100% back in action. Can we get a yay?
Puffy on the left, more lifted on the right. I was also pleased to notice even the skin under my eye looks more lifted and less lined.
If you’d like to give freezeframe REVITALEYES a bash yourself you can buy it below. One last thing – I’m absolutely thrilled that REVITALEYES is packaged in an airless tube to keep its actives ‘fresh’. So many brands put their eye treatments in jars which sees many ingredients lose their potency over time. If you’re currently using an anti-ageing treatment in a jar its time to make a switch.
